Dissatisfied Customer

I started my relationship with Haverty's back in October of 2020. We had a great salesperson, who helped us to find most things we needed. We live in VA but went to NC "Furniture Capital" in search of finding all pieces to fill up our home. We made many purchases that we left pleased with. We received the leather sectional and leather recliner chair fairly soon after the purchase and on time, however. The formal dining room set with buffet was delayed. We were advised we'd receive it possibly before Thanksgiving, then I was advised right before that I would not have it. I was then advised that I would receive it in December. I did receive the order just before Christmas, but upon receiving it. I saw that it wasn't the best fit for the room/look. I contacted my salesperson on the day following my delivery (3 day return policy) to request a change on the dining set. I paid the difference in cost and I was then informed that the potential date for delivery would be the end of February. As I neared February, I received no updates (I kind of felt like they no longer had a need or interest in keeping me informed as to progress). I reached out to my salesperson (Ron) who advised that there was no date in the system and that I was pending two dining chairs. Time passed to the point that April was approaching. I then contacted Haverty's and was advised that Ron was off. I explained to the customer service person that it had been some time and I'm looking to find when my dining set would come. She viewed the system and advised of dates that chairs were coming in-- but she advised there were orders before me that would be filled so she couldn't offer a guarantee. She advised that she would have salesperson reach out. I then, received email to inform of delay and that it would be April 23. Then April 15th came, I didn't see any email like in the past to confirm delivery date. So I called again. I spoke with a nice lady that told me it could be 5/7 or 5/20. But that it could be confirmed soon. I was concerned because I have a dinner (I'm due to host in my home) so I was super excited since the table I currently have didn't match my room setup. The gray in my walls appear to match too much with the gray in dining set. I finally received email confirmation and a call that Haverty's last week that the deliver would occur on today, May 7. Excitedly, I request off from work to be home during what they originally confirm as 2p- 4p. I received the reminder call the day before. Around 2p today (May 7) as I wait, I received a call from the driver to advise that they are behind on schedule and that they would arrive between 430-630p. Mind you, I'm still excited (lost the day, but nonetheless happy). By the way, I had already undressed the table they are picking up as well). It is approaching 7p and I hadn't heard any follow up or otherwise. And I've checked the link showing where the driver is, etc. and text for updated ETA. It updates to show driver will be at my home from 8:05-8:35. At 8:24, I receive a call from the dispatcher (since no one would answer as I called the customer service # and the number where driver called from earlier) to advise that drivers won't be coming out tonight. But to ADD INSULT TO INJURY, the dispatcher informs me (when asked if they are coming first thing in the morning) that they would not be bringing my items that are 15 miles away from my home and that it would have to go back to a distribution center (God only knows where) only to revisit a new delivery on May 20th as if this hasn't already been about 6 months that I've been waiting for furniture. I am so FRUSTRATED with Haverty's and their handling of this situation. I have a dinner engagement in my home next weekend and I don't have my new dining set that would work best in my room. The person Melissa (dispatcher) showed empathy but it doesn't fix that I lost a whole day of vacation from work and waited around for a NO SHOW, then they are going to take my furniture back to who knows where and make me wait until 5/20. If the furniture holds up and don't have more problems. That might be a miracle. I'm super DISAPPOINTED with the process where I feel you only care in the sales process but not through the COMPLETION. The quality of the furniture is nice, but your lack of service will deter me from doing future business. I've requested to escalate through the dispatcher, as I feel this is unacceptable. I will update the outcome!

First of all Havertys has a great…

First of all Havertys has a great selection of furniture and best of all their customer service is hard, to beat. We recently purchased a second home and had to furnish it from top to bottom. Working with Dante, at the West Palm Beach, FL store couldn't have gone smoother. Dante was very helpful and more important, patient, to my wife and I, as we discussed available options, choices, fabrics and styles. There is no question, when we need other furniture products, we will start our search at Havertys and again ask for Dante.

Just purchased a couch from them. Great quality, great service. Delivery guys were professional. Well made furniture.

Bad service

We purchased three tables and a sofa about a month ago. The sofa is back ordered until the end of May. When the tables arrived, one was wrapped but the other two were not. One of them is chipped. When we called, they made an appointment for someone to come out almost a month later. The day arrived and we were called and put off until April 21. When a decent company sends out damaged goods, they replace the item instead of putting a customer off for 2 months. We will cancel the sofa since it has so many electrical parts; and obviously if they go out, there will be no help from the service department. All of our furniture is from Havertys. The staff in Mesquite is wonderful, what a shame they don't have a decent company backing them. We will now shop elsewhere for our furniture.

Unknowledgeable sales people, terrible customer service

The sales person sold us mattress that did not belong on an adjustable frame. We bought all of the warranties and nothing was covered. All of the furniture is complete garbage. Wood surfaces have all peeled off.

Horrible customer service

Associates at the store will lie just to push a sale. Our kitchen table and chairs are apparently going to be delivered at different times. Part of it was supposed to be delivered today between noon-3:00, after leaving work early they called at 3:00 to let us know it will be around 5:30.

Lied about delivery date

We were new to the area of Florida. So we bought all new furniture from Havertys

Ordered a couch and 2 chairs in a custom fabric. We placed order in December. Said 12 weeks. Now they say end of April maybe middle of May. We will never order from them again

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! NO STARS IS THE TRUTH!

Nothing but LIES from this company. Gave us 4 delivery dates after waiting 3 months. All LIES. Told furniture was being crated for shipping, next thing willl be ready in June! Cxl order and requested credit for deposit. Three LIES again re: date of credit. Not seen yet or in process, still have my money. Company is not reputable. Would NEVER do business with them again.

Compassionate help

My 97 year old mom needed a power recliner to elevate her legs due to health reasons. When the chair we ordered was defective, The Top Drawer Delivery folks very compassionately were able to move her repair date up to minimize her time without the chair. She is in assisted living and while businesses could go in to help, family was not allowed. Such a frustrating time for everyone! Very grateful for their help. Sales dept. was helpful, too.

If going to Lubbock Havertys use Rudy... he's the best!

I would only buy from Rudy at Havertys in Lubbock... he is honest and works tirelessly to make sure you are taken care of! We bought a leather sofa and chair and the leather is of great quality!

Avoid at all costs

On October 31,2019 I bought a Reagan Parsons Chair with the Guardsman Gold plan. It cost me $562.77. I received the chair on January 15,2020. In June 2020, I noticed that the chair was broken (chair hardly used and not abused) and called Haverty's. Long story short, it is November 2020 and no replacement chair or refund in site. Every call or email that I made was met with "it is in process". AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Havertys wins Worst furniture store award

Havery has got to be the worst furniture shopping experience ever. They delivered broken patched up furthest looked like it came from a junkyard. Stay clear from Havertys unless you have plenty of time to demand your money back. Finally a called their corporate office in Atlanta and got a rull refund but no apology. Save yourself the trouble dont shop at Havertys.

The only Success Story we can share about Haverty's Furniture is Getting a FULL REFUND and taking my business elsewhere where they know the meaning of quality furniture and customer service. After calling their Corporate Offices in Atlanta we told them of the extensive damaged furniture we received 3 times. We demanded a refund and also called our credit card company. We refused all the furniture. We finally received a full refund. Save yourself the headache and buy furniture somewhere else.

We were highly surprised to find that Rooms To Go and American Signature have better quality furniture than Havertys. We didn't buy anything at Havertys after we saw the manager arguing with a customer in the middle of the showroom. It sounded like the customer had a bad delivery and the manager was reluctant on helping them resolve the problem. It was a clear sign for us not to shop at Haverty's.

After Checking Consumer reports and the complaints posted of Havertys low quality furniture and customer service problems we shopped for our furniture at different stores and glad we did. We found better styles, quality and pricing that met our budget.

Havertys customer service took about 20 minutes to talk to someone and all they offered was a small discount to keep all the damaged furniture as is without a warranty. We were also missing usb cords for nightstands. We canceled our order at Havertys and received a full refund after calling their corporate offices in Atlanta Georgia
